Mothers criticize BLM activists for profiting off their dead sons

Grief-stricken mothers who have accused Black Lives Matter of profiting from the deaths of their sons condemned the group’s embattled co-founder Patrisse Cullors after she announced she was stepping down from the movement.

“I don’t believe she is going anywhere,” Samaria Rice, the mother of a 12-year-old boy shot by Cleveland police while playing with a toy gun, told The Post. “It’s all a facade. She’s only saying that to get the heat off her right now.”

Swizz says DMX’s new album was tragically meant to be his big comeback

For DMX’s longtime collaborator, friend and Ruff Ryders crewmate Swizz Beatz, making his posthumous album “Exodus” — which drops on Friday — was supposed to be the start of a big comeback for the late rapper.

“We did the whole album — the album was done — before he passed,” said Swizz, 42, who served as both executive producer and producer. “It’s not an album that was pieced together after he passed. We had plans to do a two-month cleansing and workout [program] before we came with the album. He was gonna re-brand himself with new photos of him looking the best that he could look … But unfortunately we didn’t get to that part.”

NYC indoor farming startup raises $300M from high-profile investors

A New York City-based startup is growing leafy salad greens indoors — and it just raised a bunch of cabbage from investors including Natalie Portman and Justin Timberlake.

Bowery Farming said Tuesday it had raised $300 million in a funding round that values its business at $2.3 billion. Alongside traditional venture capital backers, other notable investors include celebrity chef José Andrés, basketball player Chris Paul of the Phoenix Suns and Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton.

The Manhattan-based company converts industrial buildings like warehouses into “vertical farms” tended by automated equipment, a technique it says allows all its crops to be grown year-round regardless of weather conditions, outdoor pests and pollution.

Byron Allen sues McDonald’s for discrimination

Comedian-turned-media mogul Byron Allen has sued McDonald’s for $10 billion in damages, alleging racial discrimination tied to its advertising practices.

The head of Allen Media Group claims racial stereotyping is at play in the fast-food giant’s refusal to contract with his AMG’s Entertainment Studios and Weather Group in violation of federal and state law.

Entertainment Studios owns 12 television networks. His Weather Group owns The Weather Channel.

But Allen claims the burger joint behind the Big Mac has refused to advertise on Entertainment Studios networks or The Weather Channel since he acquired the network in 2018.

‘Extremism’ Department of Defense adviser says Trump voters support racism

Bishop Garrison, a senior adviser to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin tasked with addressing “extremism” in the armed forces, would appear to have his own history of extremist views, as it emerges that he has claimed all Trump voters support racism and has called for curbing free speech online.

In two series of tweets, both written in the summer of 2019, Garrison went after fans and donors of the former commander-in-chief, arguing that those who defended the 45th president were supporting “a racist” and “ALL his beliefs.”

The first post, still available on his Twitter account, included three messages posted in July 2019.

Blind man’s vision partially restored after algae gene therapy: study

Blind man’s vision partially restored after algae gene therapy: study

Breakthroughs in blindness are coming to light thanks to algae.

A new case study published in Nature Medicine has scientists “excited” for the possibility of reversing vision loss after one man had his eyesight partially restored through a type of gene therapy that targets the proteins involved in retinal nerve cells.

After years of near-complete darkness, the treatment has restored the patient’s ability to discern light and shapes.

“The findings provide proof-of-concept that using optogenetic therapy to partially restore vision is possible,” said Botond Roska, professor and researcher at the University of Basel in Switzerland, in an international press release.

Israel reportedly agrees to cease-fire with Hamas in talks with Egypt

Israel has reportedly agreed to an Egyptian-brokered cease-fire with Hamas and Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip — as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to convene the security cabinet to discuss the terms for the agreement.

Citing Qatar-based Al Jazeera TV, the Jerusalem Post reported that Israeli officials have updated the Egyptian mediator brokering the talks that it agrees to end its military operation.

There were still mixed reports of a cease-fire, however, with Hamas political bureau member Husam Budran telling a radio station that no agreement with Israel has been reached, Haaretz reported.

Kim Jong-un bans mullets, skinny jeans in North Korea

Kim Jong-un bans mullets, skinny jeans in North Korea

There is no “party in the back” on Kim Jong-un’s watch.

The North Korean dictator has outlawed mullets and skinny jeans in an attempt to cut off “decadent” western-style fashion trends, according to a report.

The tubby tyrant has approved only 15 official “non-socialist” haircuts — and the long-in-the-back look isn’t up to snuff, according to The Daily Express.

He also ordered a bizarre crackdown on ripped jeans, sloganed T-shirts and nose and lip piercings, according to the outlet, which cited North Korea’s The Rondong Sinmun newspaper.

The Hermit King reportedly fears that “exotic” US-style cultural trends could influence young people and ultimately lead to his loss of power.
